Creative opportunities for established and mid-career makers to develop new skills.

Support for established and mid-career makers is a new area for the Crafts Council. The first initiative we have launched is the Craft Residency with the Victoria and Albert Museum.

    Craft Residency: the V&A and Crafts Council in partnership at the Sackler Centre (visit website)

    This is a new, three-year scheme to create a series of annual six-month Craft Residencies in the V&A's new Sackler Education Centre for arts education.

    Each residency will focus on a different discipline.

    Dorothy Hogg, MBE has been awarded the first residency, for jewellery.

    South West Contemporary Craft Fellowship scheme

    This is a pilot scheme aimed at key craft businesses based in the South West of England.

    The scheme is run in association with Arts Council South West and ArtsMatrix. To find out more, contact Sue Lowe, Maker Development Administrator.
