We recognise the value of academic research; its investigation into new ways of working, teaching and learning. The following institutions enable a variety of organisations to pursue academic research into the arts, contemporary craft and teaching practice.

The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC)

Research topics are wide-ranging and include a breadth of institutions including universities, colleges, museums and galleries. Search their website for further details.

Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE)

Through the Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) initiative, established in 2005, the HEFCE are working with academic institutions to reward excellent teaching practice. Visit the website.
